Introduction

You will receive 1 PLANT ( 20-35cm long ). Echinodorus bleheri – commonly known as sword plant – is not demanding. It should be placed on a deep, nutrient-rich substrate that will allow spread of its long roots. At least 10 cm deep substrate is advised. The sword plant will draw most of its diet from the ground therefore it is advised to be vigilant when planting around other plants so it does not deprive them of nutrition. Characteristic of Echinodorus bleheri is its quick growth. There is no need to be cautious of cutting yellow leaves as it will unveil new leaves quite soon after. Depending on the environment it may grow approximately 1 new leaf a week. When picking right tankmates for sword plant you do not need to be overly cautious as it will go well with almost all species, besides large cichlids or goldfish which will cause trouble for almost all aquarium plants.It can grow in a wide range of lighting setups as it can be grown either in moderate lighting and with high illumination. There is no need for additional CO2 or extra fertiliser for proper growth. Overall appearance of the sword plant adds a pleasant tropical touch to the environment it’s placed in.
PLANTING METHOD is to dig a hole in high-nutrient substrate and bury the roots underneath it using either planting tweezers or your hands to assure them being fully-covered. It is advised to plant it in some distance from other plants as due to fast growth rate Echinodorus bleheri will absorb plenty of nutrients.
